I have moved to a Tumblr account, and am still working out the kinks. I imported my whole blog to it, and am seeing if I can run both as mirror sites as seamlessly as possible. Thanks for being patient!

S'car, Matey! (The Scar Tutorial)
Ok! Here is my little pic-torial on how to make your own scars for cosplay, theatre, to scare your friends on Facebook accidentally, etc...
Get a Ben Nye makeup kit! Make sure you get your face colour (I'm a 'Type 1' aka: ghostly pale.) |
For the most part you need Spirit Gum, Translucent Face Powder, and Liquid Latex. You don't REALLY need the entire kit, but you do need these. |
Take a tissue and pull it apart into two parts. |
NOT ripping it in half... |
Shove one half up your nose. You don't need it. |
Paint some spirit gum in the seam of the tissue, |
and add some powder. |
Fold it over and poke it some. |
Repeat and add more Spirit Gum and more powder. |
Let it dry a little... |
Tap out a little powder on your surface. |
Put some on your finger so it won't get sticky, and tap the edge down so it sticks. |
Now flip the tissue over so the folded edge is like ^ where it used to be like v. |
Tricky. Fold the ^ edge to the side so if you looked at it from the table it makes a --------z_____. Glue it down with spirit glue inside the seam, and a layer of latex on top. |
Now you can cut out your scar. |
Apply spirit gum to the latex'd side, |
and stick it on your face! |
Latex the edges so they are flush with your face. This takes practice! And DON'T fidget with any little chunks. If you pull one single little edge, the WHOLE thing comes off. |
If you did it right, you can puff... |
and smile, and it will move with your face! It won't come off or peel or kink. PERFECT for heavy con-going. |
Ahhhh! Fake blood can make it look like a new cut. |
The other fun thing is taking it off. It leaves a big flappy hole that you can paint in with red and make it look like an open wound. My favorite! |
Spirit Gum Remover. Necessary to get that gunk OFF. |

Post Zenkai Post
Zenkaikon was pretty good. I am used to MUCH bigger conventions, but for Charlie's first it was good. I remember my first was the Big Apple Anime Fest in 2003.
Evangelion 2.22 was also REALLY good! Even with the new English dubs. I didn't like Asuka's new voice as much tho.

Here are a few pictures of our cosplays... They aren't very good because they were at the end of the day, in the kitchen, and mustachio'd. Just proving I got everything done! Having a fly and pockets was WONDERFUL. lol.

Off to Zenkaikon
On our way to Zenkaikon!!! Goku is on his way separately with his cosplay kit, because he was at an Iron Palm seminar. Vegeta won't be there in cosplay (jerk!) so it's just gonna be Art The Camera Holder / Creeper.
I'm all dressed and only had two calamities so far!
One:
I woke up EARLY to get lots of stuff done (transfer my bike title and look for Sally Hanson spray on stockings). All the places I went to look for it didn't open till 11. The one day I get up early and nowhere is open!
Two: Thought I lost a false eyelash. It's stupid, but I have a favorite pair that I got in Japan and after putting one on, I couldn't find the other! Turned out I had leaned over and it stuck to my shirt...
So... いけましょ!

Details
It's the details that really MAKE a cosplay...
...and it's the details that drive me NUTS.
I am now all done Launch's shirt - buttons, straps, rings, and all. Her shoes I got at Urban Outfitters (oddly enough they had the cheapest ones? Who knew?), and her laces match the colours used in Goku's and Vegeta's outfits. I have a perfect wig, bow, bumpit, eyelashes, socks, eyebrow technique, and her shorts with the pockets on the back and a red belt to match.
But what am I forge--- The gloves. The fingerless gloves. *head-desk*
Zenkaikon is NOW! I am only going on Saturday, but the little things I forgot are keeping me inside on this beauuuuutiful friday!
The other things I am just getting done are Vegeta's shoes and gloves. Merrrrrrrrhhhhhh!!!
And IRL is catching up to me today. I sold my motorcycle to a friend so I can get a bigger one. He's coming over today to learn how to ride it. If anyone knows where I can get a Café Racer in the Philly area for about $2,000 that would be GREAT! >A<;
Not to mention I need to get my friends all caught up on Evangelion 1.11 so they can see 2.0 which is screening at Zenkai!!!
Plan: Sew till my fingers fall off, ride my motorcycle till my ass falls off, and then drink tonight till my feet fall off. Then I will REALLY look like Launch tomorrow without trying.
がんばれ!!!
